Naturopathy
Naturopathy is a holistic and complementary approach to healing, which seeks to promote positive health by strengthening and supporting the body’s inherent self healing powers.
The aim of the Naturopathic Consultation is to get to know each person individually and to find out what is blocking or obstructing inherent vitality. In this respect a full case history is important. There may also be a need to gather more information from special examination techniques, for example Iridology is a useful means off assessing the constitutions strengths and weaknesses. Postural and structural examinations are also undertaken.
Good nutrition is fundamental to health care and should be the foundation for a healthy lifestyle. Part of the consultation is devoted to looking at the clients diet and if necessary, making appropriate recommendations for improvements or changes. The health of the digestion is of paramount importance and often needs to be addressed as many illnesses can be traced back to a poorly functioning digestive tract.
Special therapeutic methods which may be worked with during a course of naturopathic treatment:
Osteopathic principles are incorporated into the Naturopathic Body Adjustment. By treating the spine and peripheral joints, vitality can be enhanced and an increase in the energy throughout the body can be promoted.
Constitutional Hydrotherapy
This is a therapy which has been developed and refined over many years. It is a deeply acting treatment which has a strongly regenerative and detoxifying effect. It involves the use of hot and cold compresses to enhance the flow of blood through the main metabolic organs and the organs of elimination.
Additional complementary treatments
Compresses with herbal decoctions, fomentations and packs are offered where appropriate. Other remedies which help the body to better health, include Herbal Medicines, Homeopathic Remedies and Flower Essences.
