Health Care Professions Council Registered Art Psychotherapist
Certified Trauma Therapist
Art therapy offers the opportunity to actively work through things that trouble us using clay, colours, black and white and multimedia. Sometimes we don’t know what is wrong but we feel ill at ease or overwhelmed by life. Art therapy makes visible what often cannot be expressed in words and can also be helpful if we find we talk a lot but go round in circles. The activity quietens and clarifies; it is a bridge between the conscious and the unconscious and gives us a mirror for self-reflection.
You don’t have to be good at art, the only thing you need is to be willing to experiment and together we can do the rest.
My job is to help you to find the healer within you and to help you to integrate whatever has happened or is happening so that you can continue your life believing that no matter what: your life matters.
I offer one to one sessions, time limited therapy, psycho-education and themed workshops.
An introductory session is offered to discuss your needs and see if we would like to work together. For this session I ask for a small contribution to cover the hire of the room. I work at the centre on Wednesday afternoons and evenings. Please contact me if you have any questions.
I also facilitate courses on Working with Trauma, Professional Resilience, Burnout and Working with Grief. I am a professional supervisor.
