Ad. Prof.Dip Counselling MBACP
IAPT Post Graduate Certificate in Systemic Family Practice, Transactional Analysis 101
NCFE Advanced Diploma in Counselling Skills and Theory.
I’m currently offering online sessions via “Zoom” or telephone. My working hours are normally Monday to Friday, 9am and 7pm.
I am a caring, conscientious and competent counsellor/psychotherapist with extensive experience in offering support, rehabilitation and guidance to clients who are experiencing challenging times, be it through trauma experienced, mental health struggles such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem or relational issues. I continuously endeavour to offer a warm, safe, confidential, non-judgemental space for my clients to explore and understand difficulties which may be impacting on everyday life, whilst learning new skills to enable them to manage situations or emotions.
My initial training was using a person centred/psychodynamic approach but have also trained in cognitive therapy/solution focussed therapy and transactional analysis. Having had a vast experience with both adults and young people, having worked in senior schools as well as centres specifically for 12 to 25-year olds, working with anger, bullying issues, bereavement, OCD, family and relationship issues, self-harm, school issues, insecurities, post-traumatic stress, sleep issues, gender/sexuality issues, attachment problems and many more.
I possess a natural ability to gain the trust and confidence of my clients and can work effectively and creatively with clients as they move towards their goals and have over 11 years’ experience of working with young people and vulnerable adults.
I regularly attend CPD training courses including suicide awareness, safeguarding, parental substance and alcohol misuse, cultural awareness (including CSE and FGM) and impacts of domestic violence.
I have most recently completed a Post Graduate Diploma in CYP/IAPT family practice and hope to also be offering family practice work in the very near future.
I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) adhering to their code of professionalism and ethics, along with a current clear DBS certificate (Disclosure and Baring Service)
