The Third Oasis Pathway

Wednesdays from 19th May until 29th July, 10.00am – 1.00pm

Based on the tradition of King Arthur and his knights of the Round Table, Parsifal starts his journey ill equipped to either manage himself or understand the codes and conduct of courtly behaviour. In longing to become a knight he unwittingly embarks on a journey into a different kind of knighthood he wasn’t expecting. He learns painfully that valour, love and ambition on their own do not prepare the way for gentleness, compassion and conscience. Yet aspects of both qualities are urgently needed to fulfil a modern kind of knighthood.

We choose to work with the story of Parsifal for the Third Pathway of Oasis because of the archetypal qualities held within it. It can speak to us today no matter what stage of life we are in or paths we may have trodden. Alongside the story we will work with own biographies and through art for the duration of this course.
