Re-visioning health by providing medical, therapeutic and learning opportunities for the whole human being; our aim is to create a centre of healing, learning and trust by providing a range of therapies and therapists for your whole health needs. Above all we aim to create a health and well-being centre where you will feel met, welcome and understood by professionals and expert practitioners who care about you and your health needs.
The Elysia Centre opened in February 2012 as a Therapy Centre and a Limited Liability Partnership. The anthroposophic medical approach that underpins our work and inspires us was developed in the West Midlands at Park Attwood Clinic 1979 – 2009 and at Sunfield Children’s Home in Clent. This form of medicine and therapy is well known world-wide, and developed from the pioneering work of Dr Rudolf Steiner PhD (1861-1925) in collaboration with a doctor of medicine, Dr Ita Wegman (1876-1943).
At Elysia we combine an awareness of 4 principles, physical body, life body, soul body and spirit. The interweaving of these 4 principles creates opportunities for healing and learning, celebrating our spiritual nature and our embodied being. With holistic care, life forces stream back into engagement with the physical body and the psyche/soul; a dance occurs which lifts the everyday mundane into a celebration for life. To quote from Paracelsus ‘In every human being there is a special heaven, whole and unbroken’. Our logo symbolises the interrelationship of these 4 principles, which lie at the heart of all good holistic health practice.
Therapeutic Service Provider to other Institutions
The Centre is also a provider of therapeutic services to other institutions, such as a children’s home and specialist school. We would also like to extend this service to other like-minded organisations including hospices and GP practices.
