There are many approaches to art therapy, from focusing on personal balance and harmony to psychotherapeutically oriented art therapy where one works more directly with life questions and challenges. Combining healing images with self-expression, art can be used as a meditative process, helping to alleviate stress and anxiety. Engaging in the creative process often leads to change and growth, promoting health. Exploring life experiences through colour and form, therapeutic art/art therapy can help to address physical symptoms and emotional pain.
